To celebrate Mount Rainier National Park Centennial, a traveling photo exhibit featuring Pat O'Hara's color photography was developed to commemorate the park's 100th anniversary in March 1999. An estimated one million people viewed the exhibit over the term of its traveling schedule.

The exhibit was dedicated to the inspirational qualities of the Mount Rainier National Park ecosystem. Visual interpretations of grand landscapes and nature's intricate designs comprised the body of work that geographically represented each quadrant of the park. Many of the images retraced the footsteps of Asahel Curtis who photographed and explored Mount Rainier National Park early in the 20th century.
