Millions of breeding waterfowl and Pacific seabirds migrate to the greater Beringian ecosystem each year. Marine mammals such as beluga, gray, bowhead, white and orca whales, Pacific walrus, many species of seals and polar bears depend upon the waters of the Bering and Chuckchi Seas for their survival. Grizzly bears, snow sheep, caribou, wolves, and Arctic fox are examples of terrestrial mammals in the Beringian food chain.

Pat O'Hara and Russian photographer, Afanassi Makovnev, are currently working on a book project featuring this beautiful region of the planet to promote the establishment of the International Park.
